Annual statistics
Public bodies are requested to submit their public body statistics on access to information request(s) received and completed by public bodies each fiscal year, April 1 to March 31. This collection process commences in spring/summer with an initial email sent to ATI Coordinators (as per the ATI Coordinator Directory) who provide a link to an online form for completion.
Annual report
Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction compiles the 'Access to Information Act Annual Report' to fulfill the requirement of section 88 of the Act. Section 88 requires the Minister responsible for the ATIA to prepare an annual report about the operation of the Act and lay the report before the Legislative Assembly. Each annual report covers the fiscal year for the period of April 1 through March 31, and outlines some of the year’s highlights and accomplishments.
The report includes statistical information on:
- number of requests received
- who made access requests (for example, public, media, organization, elected official, and more)
- how requests were processed (for example, partly disclosed, totally disclosed, transferred, and more)
